Who I Help

I work with children, adolescents, and adults using words, art, and play.

Children

I use words, art, and play to help you understand your child's needs, including social emotional and cognitive development.

I also partner with you to set up your child for success.

Adolescents

Finding a good fit can take time.

I invite teens to decide for themselves if my space feels safe for them to work on their mental well-being.

Adults

Whether you are faced with something new or have been dealing with something for a long time, I am here to listen and to help.

Parents and Families

I am here to partner with you to help you understand your family's needs and to offer guidance and strategies to help everyone thrive.

"Dr. Wang is a professional and caring psychologist. She listens and treats, while consistently showing empathy and kindness. I’m very grateful for her help and support."

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a referral to book an appointment?

You do not need a referral. Please contact me if you are interested in working with me.

How long will I have to wait to see you?

Individuals and families I work with often stay in touch and return when they are faced with new challenges.

To ensure I am available to my current clients, there is usually a wait for new clients to join my practice. Please contact me to get the most up-to-date availability.

Are the sessions covered by the Medical Services Plan?

Psychology services are not currently covered under the Medical Services Plan.

If you have extended health insurance, please check with your plan provider for coverage.

How does payment work? What forms of payment are accepted?

Payment is due at the end of each session. Payments may be made by cash or e-transfer.

Do parents come to therapy sessions?

For young children, I usually start with a parent intake session to gather background information.

For teens (and older children), I usually meet with parents and their teen together to introduce myself and how I work. Then, depending on the teen’s need, I will talk about how much parents are expected to be involved in the sessions.

When is a psycho-educational assessment needed?

A psycho-educational assessment help to understand your child’s or your teen’s learning style, their strengths and challenges. The results provide a roadmap to help set your child/teen up for success.

A psycho-educational assessment is recommended when:

  • your child/teen dislikes school (despite having friends)
  • your child/teen struggles with reading, writing, or math
  • your child/teen shows big emotions/behaviours when there is school work
  • your child/teen needs a lot of support to get schoolwork done

Together, let's create a foundation for lasting mental well-being.

I welcome individuals and families of all shapes, sizes and cultures

I would like to acknowledge that I work and live on the unceded traditional territories of the xwmkwym (Musqueam), Swxw7mesh (Squamish), Stó:l, and Sllwta/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations
