HELLO, WELCOME TO MY WEBSITE
I’m Dr. Tina Wang, a registered psychologist in British Columbia and an analyst-in-training with the Western Canadian Psychoanalytic Society and Institute. I’m honored to live and work as an uninvited guest on the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations.
WHO I WORK WITH
I enjoy working with people from all walks of life. I offer treatment and consultation services for people of all ages. I also offer psychoeducational assessments to 7- to 16-year-olds. Though I am grateful when someone has recommended me, you do not need a referral to work with me.
My Approach
I bring an east-meets-west perspective to my work, shaped by my lived experience and inspired by west coast living. Growing up between cultures gave me a deep understanding of identity, connection, and resilience—insights I integrate into my practice daily.
My therapeutic style combines psychodynamic principles, cognitive and dialectical behavioural therapies, and expressive/play therapy, particularly when working with younger clients. I believe healing begins with truly understanding your unique story, challenges, and goals. My approach is trauma- and science-informed, blending evidence-based methods with compassion and creativity. I remain committed to ongoing learning through training, conferences, and collaboration to ensure my practice stays current and remains effective.
My EXPERIENCE
In addition to private practice, I’m a staff psychologist at B.C. Children’s Hospital, where I currently work in the Eating Disorders Program. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting children, teens, and families across a variety of outpatient and inpatient settings, including: Eating Disorders, Neurology, Rheumatology, Infant and Child Psychiatry, Complex Pain, Symptom Management and Child Protection.
These diverse experiences have deepened my understanding of how mental health intersects with physical health, relationships, and life transitions.
A PLACE TO BEGIN
“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” My goal is to create a safe and compassionate space where you or your child can explore, grow, and find clarity.
a collaborative approach
Whether we are working together through therapy, assessment, or consultation, my focus is on meeting you with care and understanding.
I’m here when you are ready.
